The rest of their week was grueling. Sofia was nitpicking more than before, which Olivia did not realize was even possible. As Saturday crept closer, Olivia began feeling more and more nervous. She was feeling more confident about her presentation and demonstration skills, as she had been practicing and watching as many videos as possible in her free time. But she was worried about the written exam, specifically the physics section. Physics had never been her forte. Fortunately, Drew was pretty good at math and physics, and had been helping Olivia every night with flash cards and pop quizzes.

Aside from helping Olivia study, Drew was also making dinner and packing Olivia little snacks for the day and leaving little treats and motivational messages for her throughout the cottage. Every time she read one, Olivia’s heart soared. She was grateful to have such a kind and considerate partner. She wondered about how Casey and Harrison were feeling, studying on their own with no partner support.

On the Thursday night before the written exam, as Drew was helping critique Olivia’s demonstration in between cooking them dinner, Olivia went up to her and gave her a big snuggle and smooch.

“And what is that for?” Drew chuckled.

“Just showing you a smidgen of the love and appreciation I have for you. Thank you for being, literally, the best.”

Drew gave her a hug, squeezed her tight, and rocked her slightly. “Of course, babe.”

“I promise our honeymoon phase will resume once my exam is over!”

“Oh definitely, I already have it planned out.”

“I’m sure you have an itinerary for that too.” Olivia shook her head in disbelief while Drew laughed and gave her a light smack on the butt.

Just have to get through tomorrow and Saturday.
